My Pastor Said We Can't Get Married

Dear Kela,
I am a young lady in my late twenties, I have been in my present relationship for the past 3 years. My boyfriend proposed last year and we intended to walk down the aisle later this year, until my pastor dropped the bombshell last month. He said he saw a vision, that we should not get married because the marriage will not work out, that I’ll be single in no distant time. I have been depressed since then, my fiancée wants us to go ahead, and our families are in full support though we have not told them what my pastor said. Within me I feel so right about my decision to marry him. Am still confused cos I love him so much. On the other hand, how do I disobey the vision the pastor had concerning my future. What if I go ahead with the marriage and things turn out like the Pastor said? But the mere thought of leaving my fiancée is unthinkable.

Please what do I do?
Anita

  1. am sure that pastor has seen nothing. the essence of visions is not to cause heartbreaks or bring pain....but to give caution so people can gear up for the future. so the pastor should advice the to-be-couple of ways to make the marriage work or if he (the pastor0 wants to marry the girl himself, he should tell us.

  3. She has the support of her parents and inlaws to be, I will advice her to go ahead and marry him. They've come a long way. There are fake and real pastors, am not judging though...death is inevitable, it is a sure end. Remember for better for worse.

  5. From the look of things, the lady and her fiancee don't worship in the same church. Most pastors are in the habit of seeing these "Visions" when they feel the lady is about to be taken away from their church. I'll advice the lady n her fiancee to fast n pray on their own, God will reveal to them whatever revelation there is to know. If there isn't any, they should go ahead n have a wonderful union in another church. I wish them the best.

  14. Counselling or something similar should be available before people get in to a relationship so that they are prepared for what they are getting into to explain the implication of a relationship, how to deal with different scenarios, how to recognize abusive behavior and understand the consequences of abusive behavior, to understand individuals rights in a relationship etc. Getting counselling when everything has start to fall apart is most of the time too late!!I suggested couple therapy when i newly met my husband, but he declined.Few months into the relationship i started to notice some fishy behaviors and unusual lies, recently i saw a referral on site on a cyber hacker''hackingloop6@gmail . c o m'' also available on + 1 712 292-2655'' whom i applied for his service that helped me hack and gain remote access to all his phone activities and exposed all he was doing behind me,both dating sites and phone calls. Our relationship is strained and lack the physical connection we craved for.
